CTA Advocate of the Year

Advocacy is an important part of our goal to make for Colorado a technology and business friendly environment. Because legislation and technology work at different speeds, it can be difficult to artfully craft and advocate for policies that accomplish this goal effectively. To recognize the hard work that goes into this process, CTA annually recognized those who are truly making headway in technology and business friendly policy.

In 2015, CTA recognized Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator, at the federal level; and Rollie Heath, State Senator for Boulder, at the state level.

CompTIA Tech Council Advocacy Alliance
As part of our partnership with CompTIA, CTA is provided access to CapWiz, an online grassroots tool that supports our advocacy efforts. CapWiz is a powerful communications tool that serves as a hub for stakeholders in the technology industry to connect directly with policy makers in their district, stay up-to-date on the latest legislative activities and learn more about elected officials and their platforms. Through the platform CTA is able to produce hundreds of letters and calls into local congressional offices each year.

As a resource for the IT industry at large, CompTIA supports legislative policies that advance free and open competition, promote a highly educated and technical workforce, encourage collaboration and cooperation in ideas and technology, and advance regulations that positively impact the ability of the private sector to effectively research, develop, integrate, manufacture, service and freely sell solutions in the global marketplace.
